Feds Going After Medical Marijuana Now More Than Ever

mosthi_fed_cali_lockdown
The recent effort is so far the most aggressive attempt by federal prosecutors under the Obama administration to trim back the marijuana industry, which has flourished as more states legalize use of the drug for medical purposes.

Against better advice and a slew of top-notch, mainline studies that have showed not only is the war on drugs a complete and utter failure but also that Cannabis also known as Marijuana is not only not harmful, at all, but proves to be far more beneficial in more areas than any one substance that it has been referred to by the Chinese pharmacopeia which is considered to be the most ancient and knowledgeable of all the pharmaceutical teachings, the ultimate panacea found in nature. Not only is the Federal government going against a mountain of clinical evidence to prove that Marijuana is a non-issue but they are refuting the decisions of the population of those states like California and Washington that Medical Marijuana should be legal, regulated and necessary for millions of patients afflicted with illnesses and syndromes that only respond to Medical Marijuana. These patients don’t want the side effect that pharmaceuticals routinely deliver along with mild and short-lasting relief in compared to cannabis which has NO side effects with unparalelled relief from many symptoms of pain or anxiety.

Crackdown Launched on California Pot Industry

Written on October 10, 2011 by Tamara Audi, Wall Street Journal in NCIA IN THE NEWS

LOS ANGELES—Calling California’s medical marijuana law a “façade” shielding a burgeoning commercial and criminal pot industry, four of the state’s top federal officials unveiled plans for a coordinated crackdown on the nation’s largest pot supply system.

The effort is so far the most aggressive attempt by federal prosecutors under the Obama administration to trim back the marijuana industry, which has flourished as more states legalize use of the drug for medical purposes.

California plus 15 other states and Washington D.C. have legalized medical marijuana. But federal law prohibits any use of the drug.
“A large and expanding portion of the California marijuana industry is not directed at providing medicine to ill people,” said San Diego U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy at a news conference in Sacramento. “Rather, marijuana retail stores are becoming a pervasive for-profit industry that violates federal law.”

The announcement from Ms. Duffy, as well as U.S. Attorneys for Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco, detailed a newly launched effort that includes pressuring landlords to evict pot dispensaries, seizing private lands used to grow pot, and criminally prosecuting sellers and growers of large amounts of marijuana.
